About Lorem Ipsum Generator
Lorem Ipsum is scrambled Latin used as placeholder copy since the 1500s. Because it is unreadable, it lets designers and clients judge layout, spacing, and typography without being distracted by the meaning of the words — something real text makes difficult.
How to use
- Choose paragraphs, sentences, or words.
- Set how much placeholder text you need.
- Copy it into your mockup or template.
Frequently asked questions
Why use Lorem Ipsum instead of real text?
Readable copy pulls attention toward content and away from layout. Placeholder text keeps reviews focused on visual hierarchy, line length, and spacing.
Where does Lorem Ipsum come from?
It derives from a first-century BC work by Cicero, "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum", scrambled by a printer in the 1500s to make a type specimen book.
Should placeholder text ever reach production?
No. Published Lorem Ipsum signals an unfinished page to visitors and to search engines, which may treat it as low-quality or thin content.
